New Delhi (Vishvas News). A 10-second video is going viral on social media, purportedly showing a man vandalising a Hanuman idol before being attacked by a monkey. Many users are sharing the video, believing it to be true.
Vishvas News investigated the claim and found it to be fake and AI-generated.
What’s Going Viral
Facebook user Ramendra Jha (archived version) uploaded the viral video on February 10, 2026, claiming, “A fanatic ignorant person came to vandalise the idol of Bajrangbali, but Bajrangbali’s messenger taught him such a lesson that everyone was stunned…”

Investigation
Vishvas News conducted a detailed investigation, identifying several ‘digital hallucinations’ common in AI-generated content. For example, the hammer used to vandalise the idol changes its shape at the end.
To confirm these observations, we ran the video through industry-standard detection software.
Initial assessment using the Hive moderation tool confirmed the video was AI-created, identifying a 99% probability of AI manipulation.

Continuing the investigation, we used another detection tool, SightEngine’s, which confirmed an 80% probability of this video being AI-generated.

Vishvas News further investigated and contacted AI expert Azahar Machwe, who stated that the viral video is fake. If you look closely at the top of the hammer in the video, it appears to melt and form into various shapes.
The Facebook user Ramendra Jha is followed by more than 8,000 people. This account was created on May 24, 2022.
